VALLE DE ANTON

A Sólo dos horas desde la ciudad de Panamá por la Carretera Panamericana, encontraremos el Valle de Antón. Según geólogos, El Valle fue el cráter o caldera de un volcán, razón por la cual en sus alrededores hay una gran cantidad de colinas y rocas volcánicas. Este pardisíaco lugar se eleva a 600 metros sobre el nivel del mar, con un clima fresco y agradable. Aquí existe una gran variedad de atractivos ecoturísticos entre los cuales podemos mencionar sus especies endémicas, las Ranas Doradas y los Arboles Cuadrados, únicos en el mundo, las caidas de aguas son impresionantes, las más famosas son el Chorro de Las Mozas y El Macho. En el Mercado Artesanal wsus habitantes vendes vegetales, plantas, flores, productos agrícolas, cestería, las famosas piedras de jabón talladas, cerámicas, bateas, muebles de madera, jaulas de bambú y orquídeas; entre ellas nuestra flor nacional del Espíritu Santo. A poca distancia se levantan las montañas conocidas como la India Dormida, ésta última ha motivado a poetas y escritores a inmortalizar una leyenda de la época colonial. Conoceremos un hermoso zoológico e invernadero de plantas y flores. El poblado cuenta con excelentes restaurantes. El Valle es conocido como el lugar de la eterna primavera en Panamá y además algunos escritores lo han considerado como un santuario para la meditación. Incluye guía, visitas, entradas al zoológico, refresco y almuerzo. |
EL VALLE

At only two hours from Panama City, throug the Panamerican Highway, we find El Valle de Anton. According to geologist, El Valle is the crater or a volcano and that explains we find great quantities of volcanic hills and rocks. The name Anton is original from the river explorer, spaniard Anton Martin. This paradisiacal place rises 600 meters above the sea level, with a fresh and plaant climate. Here exist a great variety o f ecotouristic attractions, including its endemic species, the Golden Frogs and the Square Trees, unique around the world. The water falls are impressive, the most famous being El Chorro de las Mozas and El Macho. Ther is inhabitants sell vegetables, plants, flowers, agricultural products, basketwork, the famous carved soap stones ceramic, trays, wood furniture, bamboo cages, and orchids. Among the later, our national flower: The Holly Spirit. The sales start at seven in the morning and end at five in the afternoon. At a short distance rise the mountains knwon as La India Dormida (The Sleeping Indian Girl) they have inspired poets and writers to inmortalize a legend from the colonial time. There is also, in the outskirts, an excellent zoo and a plants and flowers greenhouse. The town has good restaurants, if you want to, you can also rent private houses at very good prices. El Valle is known as the Eternal Spring place in Panama and some writers consider it a santuary for meditation. |
